About this website

This website is created and maintained by the Department of English at Uppsala University, and funded in part by the Faculty of Languages. It is intended as support for Uppsala University students, particularly those studying in the Department of English. It was launched in January 2014 and will be developed more or less continually.

The website's editors and principal authors are Gregory Garretson and Christer Larsson. Any comments or questions about the site may be directed to them.

We strive whenever possible to use authentic examples from student writing to illustrate the points made. We are indebted to the many students who have agreed to let us use their writing to exemplify points about academic writing, from good practices to grave problems. They are doing their fellow students a great service!

Anyone who would be interested in contributing is encouraged to contact Gregory or Christer. Perhaps you would like to submit an entry to the blog, or have your own online resource that you would like to refer us to? If so, please get in touch.

This site is a work in progress. Comments and suggestions are always welcome.
