Course Collaboration with Augustana College
In the fall of 2022, the course 'Cooperating around crises in Sweden and the USA: Problem solving via digital technologies' (7.5 credits) was given for the first time. The course is a distance course and is given in collaboration with Augustana College in the USA. The course compares the different ways that the United States and Sweden have faced challenges relating to for example politics and democracy, economy and labour, diplomacy and foreign policy, environmental sustainability and climate change, public health and pandemic response.

Research Grant to Amanda Lagerkvist
Former SINAS affiliate Amanda Lagerkvist, Department of Informatics and Media, Uppsala University, has received a major grant from two Wallenberg foundations within the national research program on the societal and individual effects of artificial intelligence. Her five year project is called ”BioMe: Existential challenges and ethical imperatives of biometric AI in everyday lifeworlds”

SINAS is happy to announce the arrival of the 2019/2020 Distinguished Fulbright Chair in American Studies. This year´s incumbent is Dr Jayson Gonzales Sae-Saue who is Associate Professor of English in Dedman College of Humanities & Sciences at Southern Methodist University in Dallas.
