About the course:
The course introduces students to recent and emerging developments in literary studies, and investigates how new theories and methods are shaping our understanding of literature. Students study topics in criticism, and literary texts especially chosen to illustrate or challenge critical paradigms. Topics may include the rise of the digital and environmental humanities, new developments in ethics and postcolonial theory, approaches to literary cognition and affect, disability studies, and the nonhuman turn.
